This is another attraction that has become extinct. The Enchanted Tiki room opened in 1971 as "Tropical Serenade", closed in 1997 for refurbishment and reopened in 1998 "Under new management." The new show replaces many of our old favorites with new characters.

Discovery Island, originally named Treasure Island, opened in 1974. In 1981 it gained accreditation as a zoological park. Discovery Island closed it's shores in 1999 shortly after the opening of Animal Kingdom where all the animals were transfered to. Discovery Island was a hidden gem of WDW.

River Country was the first Disney World water park. It was themed on an "ol' fashioned water hole" and had a rustic quality to it. Linked to the Seven Seas Lagoon it used this water and was "all natural." It was less frenetic than the later water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Unfortunately it ran into a wall of new legislation forbidding the use of "natural bodies of water" and had to be closed in 2001.

The now retired World of Motion was an opening day attraction at EPCOT Center in 1982. It was closed in 1996 to make way for the new, high speed ride, Test Track. Omnimover vehicles took visitors scenes that were populated with Audio-Animatronic figures and some projection effects. It was a whimsical look at the history and achievements in transportation and was an interesting idea for a ride.
