Retired Skyway to Tomorrowland

The famous Skyway ride was a favorite of many. Making trips back and forth from Fantasyland and Tomorrowland it gave a breath taking view of the park. The skyway buckets were closed in 1999 many believe due to safety reasons and that some not-so-nice guests would spit and throw things off them onto the crowds below.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage

A wonderful ride-thru our past. A ride many will never get to explore. This was a famous attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom, and operated from 1971-1994. The attraction opened two weeks after the park on October 14, 1971, and was one of its first E ticket attractions. Not exactly a clone of the Disneyland sub ride, it was bigger and more upto date. It will be missed by many.

Retired Horizons Ride-Thru

Horizons opened in Epcot's second year of operation in 1983 as Phase II of Epcot. Horizons was the only attraction in "Future World" to showcase all of the elements Epcot's "Future World" was meant to showoff. It was a great ride portraying a vision of the future. The ride closed it's doors in 1994, temporarily reopened in 1995, then permanently closed again in 1999. The ride and it's building were then replaced by Mission: SPACE.

Retired World of Motion Ride-Thru

The now retired World of Motion was an opening day attraction at EPCOT Center in 1982. It was closed in 1996 to make way for the new, high speed ride, Test Track. Omnimover vehicles took visitors scenes that were populated with Audio-Animatronic figures and some projection effects. It was a whimsical look at the history and achievements in transportation and was an interesting idea for a ride.

Tour of River Country Water Park

River Country was the first Disney World water park. It was themed on an "ol' fashioned water hole" and had a rustic quality to it. Linked to the Seven Seas Lagoon it used this water and was "all natural." It was less frenetic than the later water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Unfortunately it ran into a wall of new legislation forbidding the use of "natural bodies of water" and had to be closed in 2001.
