Retired Horizons Ride-Thru Horizons opened in Epcot's second year of operation in 1983 as Phase II of Epcot. Horizons was the only attraction in "Future World" to showcase all of the elements Epcot's "Future World" was meant to showoff. It was a great ride portraying a vision of the future. The ride closed it's doors in 1994, temporarily reopened in 1995, then permanently closed again in 1999. The ride and it's building were then replaced by Mission: SPACE.
